Headteacher's Welcome
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Brandlehow Primary School. I have the honour of leading a team of dedicated staff, who are enthusiastic and driven, to deliver a rich, relevant, inclusive curriculum. Working in partnership with parents and governors, we are a forward-thinking team, who aim to spark curiosity and develop critical thinkers who are not afraid to make mistakes.
From the very moment your child starts in our Early Years, they become part of the Brandlehow Family. Staff help each child to acquire the skills and knowledge they need in order to thrive and become independent learners for life. It is always wonderful to see children flourish as they journey through school.
Brandlehow staff are really invested in the growth and development of the whole child. We do this by focusing on our school values (Honesty & Kindness, Creativity & Grit and Teamwork & Respect) as well as delivering a rich and challenging curriculum. We are proud of how well our exceptional Year 1 phonics results and the high outcomes that our children achieve by the end of Key Stage 2.
Extra-curricular clubs at Brandlehow help to extend learning opportunities beyond the school day. We run an incredibly successful breakfast and afterschool club led by a dedicated team of staff who go above and beyond to ensure children have a warm meal, creative activities and feel safe and looked after.
Interestingly, the existing school building was listed as Grade II in 1993, after being designed by the architect, Ernő Goldfinger and built in 1950. The original school building had three storeys but suffered significant damage after it was bombed during WWII.
We are proud of our friendly and diverse community and encourage you to explore our website further and come to our school for a visit by booking on one of our open mornings.
